The traditional Alpine village of Livigno is an all-round ski resort offering high altitude skiing, stretching out across the dazzling Valtellina alpine valley near the Swiss border. Livigno boasts modern ski services whilst retaining the traditional character of its original three villages. It's got a solid snow record and slopes well-suited to intermediate skiers and boarders. It's also home to two large snow parks, which some say are the best in Europe. The whole resort is duty-free and the traffic-free main centre offers good value stores and designer boutiques and a variety of vibrant cafes, rustic bars and good restaurants.
