With breath-taking views of the Rocky Mountains, Lake Louise, 'The Jewel of the Rockies', was voted Canada's Best Ski Resort in the World Ski Awards 2015. The small village is just a short shuttle from the slopes, which get endless powder and record snowfalls, and makes up Canada's third largest ski area. The resort has over 139 ski runs which include some wonderful tree lined pistes as well as acres of open bowls. The snow is always reliable and the ski season is long. Located within the glorious Banff National Park, the surroundings are spectacular and there is roaming wildlife - such as elk and big horn sheep - making it a dream destination. The magnificent lake itself becomes an outdoor ice rink in the winter months and the nearby village has a handful of shops and hotels, with restaurants and bars providing relaxed evening entertainment. The larger town of Banff and ski areas Sunshine Village and Mt Norquay are not far away, with shuttle buses running between all three.
