For families and those totally new to skiing, Gausta’s a fantastic under-the-radar choice. The 35km ski area has a cracking snow record and varied slopes to suit all abilities. Celebrate the 2026 new year on the slopes.
Ski, dine and discover history at the foot of Gaustatoppen – one of Norway's most iconic peaks.
Gaustablikk Mountain Resort is perfect for those who want to relax, savour great food, and dip into some gentle downhill or peaceful cross-country skiing. Set in the heart of Gausta, this hotel delivers Scandinavian charm with modern flair. Expect a serene lakeside location, soft snowy views, and a hotel packed with character.
For the ultimate front-row seat, pay a little extra for a floating sauna out on the lake – you can even take a plunge into the water if you’re feeling brave. The nature’s all around you here, and you’re only a minute’s stroll from the lifts, so getting stuck into the skiing each day’s a piece of cake.
And you're in for a treat when it’s time for a bite or a tipple. Breakfast’s served buffet-style each morning, and if you upgrade to half board you’ll get three courses of posh nosh in Blikk’s Fjellbrassiere, where the crème-de-la-crème of chefs from Norway's cuisine scene work their magic. Then to round off the day, stop by Kirk’s Bar for a classy cocktail and a game of shuffleboard or table tennis.
Just so you know, with the half board upgrade you are able to switch up your evening meal on a day-to-day basis. As a standard, you'll get a 3-course set menu evening meal at Blikk Fjellbrassiere. You can also choose to take your evening meal at the Stova or Fjell restaurant free of charge, or get a partial payment voucher for Blikk's à la carte evening menu – just let the reception know two days beforehand and they’ll book you in.
